Marios Vryonides is Professor of Sociology, Sociology of Education and Research Methods at European University of Cyprus. He received his PhD from the Institute of Education – University of London in 2003. He is currently the Vice-Rector, Research & External Relations at the EUC and the President of the Research Committee on Sociology of Education of the International Sociological Association. He has published widely on sociological and educational issues. His research interests focus on contemporary sociological theory, social research methods, topics of sociology of education and the theories of cultural and social capital.
