International Workshop: The establishment of the Ptolemaic power in Eastern Mediterranean. Cyprus, Syria and Cyrenaica (end of 4th – end of 3rd century B.C.)
European University Cyprus is hosting on 19 October 2023, at 09:00 at Auditorium Alpha, the Second Workshop of the International Research Project (2021-2025) Les espaces lagides en Méditerranée orientale / The Ptolemies and the Eastern Mediterranean.
The First Workshop, titled External possessions or the affairs of the King? The case of Cyprus and Cyrenaica, took place in 2022 (at European University Cyprus, Nicosia, on 20-22/5).
The Second Workshop titled The establishment of the Ptolemaic power in Eastern Mediterranean. Cyprus, Syria and Cyrenaica (end of 4th-end of 3rd century B.C.), brings together specialists on the Ancient Eastern Mediterranean. Selected papers from the Workshops will be published in a special volume in 2024. The Research Project will conclude at the end of 2025 with the organisation in Paris of the International Conference, Les espaces lagides en Méditerranée orientale / The Ptolemies and the Eastern Mediterranean (jointly organised by European University Cyprus, Université Gustave Eiffel, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and CNRS-ArScAn, Nanterre).
